Private practice
In my private practice, I provide psychological therapy for individuals 18+ years. In essence, my focus is centered around the present and future direction for the client. I help individuals reflect upon the significance of past experiences, but attention ultimately shifts to searching for a new and increased awareness in the present and enabling a new freedom and responsibility to act. In this way, people begin to view life as moments, in which they have the freedom to create their own values and personal life meaning, thereby reaching their full potential.

My primary therapeutic approaches are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) - Level 1 trained.
ACT helps people to create a full and meaningful life, while effectively handling the pain and stress that life inevitably brings. ACT involves mindfulness processes which enable individuals to become fully engaged in the present moment and consciously aware of our internal and external experiences. It is through a mindful state that we have choice in how to respond to our thoughts and feelings, which allows us to choose our actions to be more in line with the person we want to be.
Interanl Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence-based, compassionate and non-pathologising approach to psychotherapy. It operates on the core belief that all of the parts that exist inside of us - sensations, beliers, feelings, urges - are all protective. Even our most unwanted internal experiences are not essentially ‘bad’ - they are trying to protect us in some way. The main goal of IFS is to help individuals access their calm, compassionate core "Self" to lead their internal system and bring harmony to all of our parts.
In addition to ACT and IFS, I am trained in and apply aspects of the following therapies where appropriate:

Health Rebates
Private Health Insurance rebates are provided by most health funds. The rebates differ depending on your health fund and level of cover.
Medicare provides rebates for clients who have a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan (provided by your GP). Please discuss your eligibility with your General Practitioner or do not hesitate to contact me for further information about rebates.
